Today, from coast to coast to coast, people gather to celebrate Canada's 145th birthday. We celebrate nation builders, growth, and achievement. We celebrate our unique history, diverse cultures, and vast landscapes. Past traditions and future aspirations unite us and shape our identity. Canada Day is an opportunity to pay tribute to our country's remarkable people. Canadians are respected around the world for their generosity, tolerance, humility, and abilities.
We can be proud to live in this peaceful and democratic nation. Let us not forget those who have defended and continue to defend freedom around the world -our veterans and our Canadian Forces.
